Alexey Yuneev - International Master

Alexey Mikhailovich Yuneev (born September 13, 1957, Leningrad) is a Soviet and Russian chess player and coach.

Pupil of the chess school of the Leningrad Palace of Pioneers. He studied under the guidance of the Honored Trainer of the USSR Vladimir Zak.
Graduated from the A.I. Herzen Pedagogical Institute. Master of Sports of the USSR since 1980. He took part in several championships in Leningrad.
In 1989 he shared 1-4th places, surpassed rivals in the additional tournament and won the champion title.
As part of the Plastpolymer team, he won the 1985 USSR club championship. He was a prize-winner of several international tournaments.
In 1993 he received the title of International Master. Repeatedly took part in the matches Leningrad - Moscow.
Since 1985 he has been working as a trainer at the St. Petersburg (Leningrad) City Palace of Youth Creativity.
Senior trainer of the chess department since 1988. Since 1990 he has been the head of the city methodological association of teachers. Excellence in public education of the RSFSR.
Member of the Children's and Youth Commission of the Russian Chess Federation. Among his students are Nikita Vitiugov and Maxim Matlakov.
